Farmer's Market
The Yellow Green Farmer's Market is one of the most popular, and well known Farmer's Marker around the Fort Lauderdale area. Every weekend they offer local finds and shops, from clothing to crystals and coffee!
The artsy scene is also a cool concept. Its resemblance to a Latin American market, brings it a unique South Florida charm. They usually decorate the market with fruit art, live music, and the mix of culture. If you come early in the morning, you can catch some yoga sessions happening.
My absolute favorite places include: Nysha's AHHH-mazing Samoas and indian cusine, The Olive Bar (which btw has a huge diversity of olives), The Tropical Juice Bar (tropical fruit juices, YUM), and a local crystal shop (a large quantity of the stones actually come from Brazil. A store I used to go when I was a child, it's 2 floors of pure crystals (and happiness, DUH) at a very affordable price).
Some of the shops also offer local honey. The one place I usually buy it from, has really thick honey, with the actual honey comb inside, and they are organic(mouth watering, although like I mentioned before my favorite Honey is from the Acacia tree, not this one). Did you know that the Bees are dying? It's a serious possibility that it will cause an unbalance in nature. This information needs to be brought up to our attention! Bees are extremely important to the natural balance of plants and our ecosystems. Make sure when you purchase honey, it's grown organically and do your part :)
Below you will see the two smoothies we bought!
It's a mix between Coconut Lime and Maracuya. Don't forget to stop at the Tropical juice bar and try their mixes. They offer all types of deliciousness. Seriously. I ALWAYS, get one.
The best part is that you can find all sorts of foods, from Indian, to Venezuelan, Brazilian, African, Greek, Vegan, etc.. In one of the pictures you can see a vendor that offers Western Medicine information. Along the same lane you can find African Shea Butter, raw and amazing! I use it a lot for hair treatments. It has all sorts of benefits.
In the four years the market has gotten so much attention that now, new vendors flock to get a spot.
If you come early enough, there is a bakery that offers freshly baked bread pudding muffins and they are to die for.
What did you do on your Sunday Funday?
Where are your local markets and finds? Let me know!
